Shows and Events

We have shown our alpacas at various events during our 2 ½ years in Spain – at the Ronda May Ferias in 2006, 2007 and 2008 at the Setenil Romeria in 2007, at our own open days in Ronda during 2006 and 2007 and  at a combined Pasofino and alpaca show in September 2006.

Our recent show, the first Alpaca show and competition in Spain, took place in Ronda in May 2008. Some 25 alpacas representing five breeders were judged by international judges Monyka Portocarrero from Peru and Tim Hey from England.  We were fortunate to get 12 first places with our animals, including the Supreme Champion Alpaca, Godswell Ella. Please see the full results on xxxxxx (Link).

Campeon de la clase Junior: 21 Alham Valley Olympia

Reservado de la clase Medio: 35 Alham Valley Lorenzo

We were very pleased for Di and David Worthy of Torcal Alpacas who won the Intermediate class with an alpaca they had bought from us, Godswell Lulu. She also came Reserve Champion. Congratulations to them.

Godswell Ella also won the fleece competition with her 2007 fleece.

Ronda Feria - May 2008
Come to this great annual fair in the most historic town in Andalucia and possibly Spain. The organisers have asked that our alpacas be here again this year. We will happily answer all your questions.

The Inaugural meeting of the Society was held at 3.15pm on Friday 23rd May at the Ronda Feria.

  Our Three Feria Events.

At the Feria we held three meetings – one to get SEDA (The Spanish Alpaca Society) up and running.

There was a seminar for vets which was presented by Dr Monyka Portocarrero and attended by vets from all over the country. We hope that this might be the beginning of vets interested in alpacas communicating with each other. Her biography is as follows:
